The Construction Division is responsible for the transmission and distribution of the City’s potable water. This Division maintains and repairs over 229 miles of water mains, 29 miles of sewage force mains and 18,000 customer connections located at businesses and residences throughout the City.

Utilities Weather Station

Over 300 water leaks are repaired each year, 95% of them within four hours. Repairs and service restorations are available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

Another function performed by the Construction Division is the maintenance and repair of 1,700 fire hydrants that provide the City with its required fire protection for the safety and welfare of our customers.

Additionally, the Division continually upgrades water and sewer connections to improve the quality of service.
